Folded Paper Shirt for Your Top Pop!

Trouble buying Father's Day cards? Why not make it extra-special by making your own! 

Here's a great idea to embellish your Father's Day card. 

A folded paper t-shirt is a perfect design you can attach to your card.

All you need is a patterned/solid rectangular piece of paper.

Instructions:

1. Lay paper flat.

2. Fold it in half, lengthwise. Crease.

3. Unfold.

4. Fold in each side to meet the center crease.

5. Flip the paper over. On one end, fold down the edge about half an inch.

6. Turn the paper back over and fold one corner on an angle so that the corner point touches the center line. Repeat with the other side. The exact angles are not critical.

7. Now let's make the sleeves. On the opposite end of the paper, take one side and fold a triangle shape outward from the center fold. Do the same on the other side.

8. Take the bottom edge and flip it up and tuck under the collar.

Add a necktie or a bow to finish it off!

Butterfly Kisses and Butterfly Wishes

Day Myell. Wouldn't that be a lovely name for a butterfly? 

When I was asked to do a butterfly party, I immediately thought pink, green, and white will be the perfect color combo, and a touch of brown to make it a little enchanted.
Most of the parties I see with this theme use a lot of colors, but I always like to limit my base colors to 3. I'm actually more on the color than the theme.

The backdrop consisted of the caterpillar at the top made with paper fans,

I made huge pink flowers out of cartolina,

and then there's the butterfly dangler, and the wooden lamp.

And there's the birthday girl in her cute dress!

This butterfly dangler I made was positioned at the center of the sweet corner backdrop.

These wrapped letters I made with cardboard and crepe papers became the center decor of the dessert table. 

 I hot glued cut out butterflies on the twigs I gathered from our yard and placed them in clear glass jars. They made the centerpieces of the dining tables.

I decorated the ceiling with honeycomb balls surrounded with butterflies.

The party foods were butterfly-related of course.

I thought of foods that would represent every stage of the life of a butterfly.

Round pastillas were 'Eggs',

peanuts were 'Cocoons',

gummy 'Caterpillars', 

and formed 'Butterflies' with berry knots and pretzels.

Other theme-related sweets I placed on the dessert table were

'flower' mallows, popping candies were 'pollen' grains,

hershey's kisses were 'butterfly kisses', and

gummy candies were 'bug bites'.

I made these wreaths with wires and crepe papers. 

And of course, it wouldn't be a butterfly garden without these 

cute butterfly catchers I made.

What a lovely day to be a BUTTERFLY!

My Little Man's Fashion

TRUE or FALSE: Little boys clothing are boring.

That's a FALSE for me! I have to agree though that most stores sell around 70% of girls clothing and only 30% for boys, and 70% of that 30% are just so lousy (no offense).

When I found out I was pregnant, I knew it's a boy. And I imagined him being like a little version of Jared Leto, or Matt Belamy, or Brandon Boyd. 

Babies grow so quickly, and though I know it's wiser to buy clothes that are 1 or 2 sizes bigger than your kid's size, I don't really like dressing my kid like he just borrowed his shirt or pants, you know what I mean.

Since I seldom see fashionable clothing for little boys in stores,

I make his outfit a little more interesting by putting on some accessories like 

suspenders, scarfs, glasses, and of course, my favorite, fedoras!

Here are some ideas that might help!

Keep Calm and Be Fab!!

This is Dani Starr's 1st birthday party and my first time to style an event (except for my son's parties). It was quite challenging for me because it's unexpected and had it on such short notice. I only had two weeks to prepare and I had to finish everything while looking after my son. How's that for multitasking?

I had mixed emotions about this, partly happy, mostly nervous.

I named this party "Keep Calm and be Fab!!".

Just what I need to do to be able to pull this party together. 

Prinzelle Starr (the birthday girl's mommy) picked the color combo - pink, black, and white. 

This was the entrance.

I decorated the floor with shining stars leading upto the stage.

Keep Calm photo frames, wine glasses with zebra-print fabrics and fab chocolate coins, plus the white flower pompom. That's just fab!

Fab hats worn by guests: pink-black or pink-white for girls,

 black-white for boys.

I turned this make-up kit into a little suitcase and filled it with fab little dresses and white pearls.

The backdrop for the candy corner was made with honeycomb balls and paper pompoms plus streamers.

The centerpiece was very simple but looked elegant with the white flower pompom and zebra-print fabric.

I surrounded the stage with oversized flower pompoms.

And that's the party stage. That boy just doesn't want to get off the stage. (That's my son.)☺

The party ended with group pictures at the stage.

Glad it turned out soooo FABULOUS!
